Before we get started I have listed a few survival tips to help your party run smoother:

First, make sure you select games you think your child will love and pick some back-ups, just in case. Next, setup a schedule of events before the party on which games will be played, what order and a time limit. Finally, don’t forget the “fun” factor in the party. Not every child is going to win every event, so make sure each event is designed to be “fun”, “loud” and “enjoyable”.

Hopefully these tips will help reduce your party stress and allow you to enjoy the party. So have fun at the Ultimate Party!

* Pass the meteorite: Wrap about 3-5 boxes inside of each other and place a small toy in each layer. Then play some "space" music and have the children pass the parcel around a circle. When the music stops, the child holding the box gets to unwrap one layer. That child is then out of the game. Continue until the last layer is revealed.

* Land the Rocket on a Planet: First, obtain a poster of a planet. Hang it on the wall with enough room for the children to throw a rocket at it. Make the rockets from sticky back foam so all you have to do is peel the backs. Let the children take a shot at throwing the rocket at the planet.

* Moon Walk Races: Setup a starting line and finish line where the children will be able to move from one side of the room to the other. Next, cut out three yellow moons for the children to use. One at a time, they must step on two moons and move the third one in to position with their hands. Then they must step on the third one and again move the free star into position to move again. They continue this until they reach the finish line. You can time them for a more competitive game.

* Alien Bowling: Either use an existing bowling game your child may have or make bowling pins out of 2-liter bottles. For even more excitement, you could have the children decorate the pins during the ice breaker activities.

* Flying Saucer Game: First you need to start saving lids that come off frozen juice cans. When you have enough, decorate them with star and astronaut stickers. Next, make crop circles (label each circle with a point value) on the floor in a designated party area. Then have the children try to toss the flying saucers into the circles. Add up their points and award the highest point total a prize.

* Pin the astronaut on the shuttle: This is a great twist of "Pin the tail on the donkey". First, draw the Space Shuttle on a large poster board, but leave off a spot for the astronaut. Then, cut out enough astronauts for each child to have one. Finally, get a blindfold, put double sided tape on the back of each astronaut and whoever gets the closest to the “missing astronaut” wins. This should definentely be one of your ultimate Space Party Games.

* Space Coloring Pages: Give each guest an activity booklet with coloring pages to do either at your party or to take home in a goody bad. Check out our Ultimate Space Party Games Coloring Pages. A perfect activity to calm the children down and an ultimate birthday game for your party!

* Alien Knockout: Begin decorating empty cans (empty formula cans work the best) with black construction paper and alien cutouts. Then set the cans up in a pyramid shape and let the children use a ball or bean bag to try and knock all the aliens down.

* Who am I?: First, as each child arrives attach a picture of a plantet on their back. They must go around and ask other guests questions about their planet. Once they guess their planet correctly, you can award them with a prize.

* Moon Exercise: This game is mainly designed for the younger kids. Lead the children in a movement exercise where they pretend to put on space suits, climb into a rocket and blast off to the moon. Once they arrive on the moon you could move into another game, such as, hunting for moon rocks.

* Hunting for Moon Rocks: Wrap aluminum foil around golf balls and place them in a designated area. Have the children gather them up and place them in a big bucket and when all rocks have been found award each guest with a special "space" prize.
