Now it’s time to start planning the Ultimate Child Theme Party, but the first question to answer is where do you have it? There are so many options and picking the “right” one can be difficult for some people. Just remember, as long as your child’s family and friends are there, the location really doesn’t matter to them. So pick somewhere that is convenient and easy for you to setup and clean up in a minimal amount of time. Now keep reading for more ideas on a Ultimate Airplane Kid Theme Parties.
* (Child's Name) Airport: What could be better than actually going to your local airport? How about bringing the airport to your house? Don't have enough room for a runway? What? Really? Just kidding...but how cool would it be if you transformed your house into a miniature airport? Sound difficult? Don't worry... transforming your home into a "airport" is not going to be as hard as it sounds...I promise. Keep reading through the decorations, invitations, etc, and you will find more information on how easy it will be for you to make the transformation happen. But first, I would suggest checking out our selection of Clip Art and Coloring Pages. You will find a tons information and pictures that you won't be able to use it all!!! Now what are the benefits of having a party at your home? You might be thinking NO WAY!!! But wait, first I know you won’t forget any crucial party items at your home (e.g. piñata bat). Second, that reservation won’t get screwed up…because you are already there! Finally, you know where everything is, how convenient. Now don’t get me wrong, you do run the risk of damage and such, so be sure to weigh the benefits and risks and pick what’s best for you and your child!
* Mobile Airport: An excellent Kid Theme Parties Location is the local park. Now there are a lot of benefits of having the party outdoors...and I think the most obvious is the surroundings. You will probably have airplanes flying over and a large area available for you to use for your airport. So to get started, start making a list of the characteristics of the park. For example, how much area is available? is there a playground? tennis court? trash can availability? bathrooms? covered areas? capacity of park? etc. You don’t want to show up at an overcrowded park, with no playground or bathrooms and it starts to rain. Spend some time in selecting the right park and I guarantee your party will run a lot smoother. Don't worry, you'll still be able to use a lot of the decorating ideas from this site, so don't stop here...keep reading for more kid theme parties ideas!
* Your Local Airport: How about transporting all the guests down to a local airport? Now why would you want to do that? Well, one great thing about an offsite establishment is they sometimes provide you with invitations, discounts on food, a cake, etc. Just call your local airport and see if they have an available room and maybe a tour. And make sure you ask if you can bring your own decorations.

1. Come fly with "child's name"
2. "child's name" is our birthday pilot!
3. We want you to come to "child's name" party!
* Airplane Kid Theme Parties Invitation #1: This invitation is easy to make on your computer. Start out with some rectangular gray-blue card stock. On the front put: "Child’s name" AIRLINE, the official birthday party airline. List the name of the child as the "flyer", the guest’s address as the "departure location", your address as the "arrival location", party date as the "flight date" and party time as the "flight time". Along the bottom, use a "computer" type font and type "122500; FO URYE ARSO LD; 2004" which is actually your child’s birth date, age and current year. Try to create as much realistic ticket coding as possible. On the right put the flyer’s name, flight number (122500), First Class. Finally type, "This ticket in non-transferable. Passenger is limited to two carry-on parents. A light meal will be served. Check in at terminal. Proceed to Concourse A Gate 4. If additional seats are needed or if unable to make flight, please call a "Your Last Name" Airlines ticket agent at (your phone number)." This ticket is sure to be a hit!
* Airplane Kid Theme Parties Invitation #2: Start out by cutting a cloud out of a big heavy piece of white paper. Next copy an airplane onto the cloud. Put across the cloud, "Take off with "Child’s Name" on a high flying birthday celebration". On the back of the cloud list the passenger info: Passenger Name, Date of Flight, Check-in Time, Departure Time, Confirmation Number to RSVP and an Address block of "Child’s Last Name and Address".

Picking out, setting up and fine tuning the decorations can be a long tedious process. But, there is hope, because with a little planning and creativity, it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of the party. I have compiled some kid birthday parties ideas that start with the outside decorations and finishes with the inside decorations. You can use all, some or none of the ideas, but no matter which child birthday party ideas you choose, they will help turn your party location into the Ultimate Party Location.
First, let's start with the outdoor decorations:
Attach a bouquet of helium filled balloons to a light post or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be that day!
Make a few signs for your front yard. They could say: "child's name" Airport, No Parking in the Red Zone, No Stopping, Unloading and Loading Zone Only, etc.
Here is an easy way to make a great birthday banner. Use a white vinyl shower liner and 10" black vinyl letters (you can purchase these from an officer supply store). On the banner you can write something like, "child's name" Airport. You can also let your children or the guests draw airplane and clouds all over it.
Now, let’s move inside the party location and decorate…
Let’s start with the simple decorating. Tie helium balloons of different shades of white, blue, green, yellow, etc. in clusters of 3 or 5 to the back of chairs or tucked into corners. Don't forget to tie a bunch of balloons to the birthday child’s chair. If you choose not to use helium, tie balloons to varying lengths of curling ribbon, and hang them from the ceiling or from light fixtures throughout the house.
Tie a group of 5 white balloons together with fishing wire. Hang them from the ceiling to represent clouds.
Next, let’s move on to another simple, yet familiar decorating item, Streamers. Streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful effect by draping rainbow colored metallic streamers from the center of the ceiling to the walls on each side of the room. The streamers can be twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table for a more dimensional look. Two different colored streamers can be placed back to back and twisted for a unique look. After you are done, it should look like a spiral rainbow above the room! They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading vertically down walls. Streamers are an excellent Airplane Kid Theme Parties Ideas.
This Ultimate American Heroes Birthday Banner will put the perfect touch on the decorating scene.
Make some paper airplanes out of colorful construction paper. Place them all over the house: on the rafters, ceiling fans, ceiling and anywhere you can get one to hang.
On the doorways put a Gate and Number.
Turn your party table into a runway. Cover the table with brown or black butcher paper. Down the center of the table lay 2 strands of white or blue Christmas lights.
Here are some inexpensive foam airplanes that make a great decoration, plus a party favor. Place them all over the house, floor, ceiling, table and anywhere you can get them.
You could go down to your local travel office and get some brochures. Place them around the house as if they are in an airport.
Create a ticket counter by the front door. As each "passenger" arrives, collect their ticket and baggage (present). This will really help the kids get in the spirit.
To top off a perfect party, make a baggage claim and put it by the exit. As each child gets ready to leave, don’t let them forget their baggage (Party Favors). They’ll get a kick out of this.
All of these ideas work great with any Airplane kid theme parties. It’s now up to you to decide which ones. Have Fun and Be Creative!

Trying to keep the guests attention until the party starts isn't an easy task. But with these kid theme parties ideas listed below you won't have any problems!
Let those who’ve arrived early play with Bubbles while they wait for the other guests to arrive.
Don’t forget to check out the great collection of coloring pages I have compiled. A coloring activity is a great way to keep the children occupied until the party starts. Plus, you can send them home in their goody bag.
A simple game of Pilot, Pilot, Plane (i.e. duck, duck, goose) is a great ice breaker activity. You can keep adding children to the circle as they arrive. I have yet to find a child who doesn't like this game, it’s a classic!!!
Freeze Dance is another great game to get kids acquainted. The game doesn't require a certain number of kids, so they can join in as they arrive. Play some patriotic music as the kids dance. If you stop the music, they must freeze. If they don’t freeze, they are out. The game restarts after all the children have been eliminated except one. Kids love to dance and play games, which makes this an Ultimate Airplane Kid Theme Parties Idea.
Have the children decorate a large birthday banner in honor of your child that says, “Happy Birthday, Name”. You can get a large roll of paper from a store like Target. Give the children crayons, stickers, and other such items to use.
Story time with puppet show: Make the puppets by printing characters off web sites & laminating them. Attach to Popsicle sticks.
Have each passenger make a paper airplane. Depending on their age you can allow them to create their own or have a pre-made one for each guest. You can use these planes later in the Airplane Contest.
As each passenger arrives, you are going to need to contain them in an area until the party starts. Hide some planes in an area and let them go find them. Hide more planes than passengers to allow some kids to find more than 1. This should keep them busy for awhile.

Picking out the perfect food, refreshments, treats and cake should be a fun experience. Think of clever names for each item that relates back to the Airplane Kid Theme Parties. Here are a few Kid Theme Parties Ideas to get you started:
Airplane Kid Theme Parties Food:
* Lunch Box: Make each passenger on your airline feel extra special with an individual party snack packed in an airline box. This box could simply be a Chinese takeout box or other small boxes decorated with airplane stickers or your logo. Include things like: peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit, carrots, candy bar, chips, juice, etc.
* Ham & Cheese Roll-Up: These treats are easy to make and kids love them. Start out by purchasing hot dogs, cheese and refrigerator croissants. Slice hot dogs lengthwise and cut cheese into strips. Unroll croissants and stuff them with hot dogs and cheese. Roll croissants back up and bake as directed, or until golden brown.
Airplane Kid Theme Parties Refreshments:
* In-flight Fuel: Your pilot and passengers need to refuel sometime during the flight. Try this delicious drink. Combine one 12-oz can frozen juice concentrate, 3 cups nonfat milk, and 1 pint low-fat orange sherbert in a blender. Mix Well. Serve with a wide straw and spoon.
* Jet Fuel: Serve sparkling cider in blue plastic cups. Attach stickers of planes, tools or whatever else you can find to the sides of the cups for fun!
* You can serve the drinks that children love, such as, Capri Suns, Kool-Aid Koolers, Kool-Aid Jammers, boxed juice, etc.
Airplane Kid Theme Parties Cake:
Deciding on whether you are going to make or buy the Ultimate cake is a tough decision. It mainly depends on how much time you have and how many guests are coming. I would suggest for a smaller party, you try and make that Ultimate cake. But if there is going to be a large number of guests, maybe a large cake made by the baker would be the best decision. It’s up to you, but here are some Kid Theme Parties ideas for making an Ultimate Airplane cake.
High Flying Cookies: Your passengers will go bonkers over these cookies. To make them, you will need: 4 egg whites, ¼ tsp. salt, ¼ tsp. cream of tartar, 1.5 cups sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup white chocolate chips. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Separate egg whites from the yolks. Dispose of the yokes and beat the egg whites until frothy. Add the salt and cream of tartar. Beat on high until stiff peaks form. Slowly add the sugar, a tablespoon at a time; beat will after each addition. Lastly, add the vanilla and fold in the chips.
Drop spoonfuls of the dough on a lightly-greased cookie sheet. Bake for 18-20 minutes until firm. Cool completely and store cookies in an airtight container. These cookies are best eaten within a few days for maximum freshness.
Runway: Bake a simple sheet cake and frost it with colors that match your theme. Ice a runway in the center of the cake and place some toy jets on it. A control tower would put the final touches on this cake, if you got one.
Skywriting: Another Ultimate Cake Idea is to start out by baking a simple sheet cake. Ice the cake with blue icing, make some big white icing clouds and place matchbox planes in the sky. A simple twist to this cake is simply place on plane on the end of the writing. The plane will look like it was skywriting, the kids will love it!
