Now it’s time to plan the Ultimate Child Theme Party, but where do you have it? There are so many options and picking the “right” one can be very difficult for some people. Just remember, as long as your child’s family and friends are there, the location really doesn’t matter to them. So pick somewhere that is convenient and easy for you to setup and clean up in a minimal amount of time. So keep reading for the Ultimate Kid Party Ideas.

* Neverland: I mentioned at the beginning that I was going to help you transform you home into "Neverland". But how? Well, I have researched this theme and have lots of ideas you could use. So don't worry, with the ideas from this page, some time and your creativity you will be able to create a "Neverland" your child will never forget. To get started now, I would suggest checking out our selection of Clip Art and Coloring Pages. You will find so much information and pictures you won't be able to use it all!!! Now what are the benefits of having a party at your home? You might be thinking NO WAY!!! But wait, first I know you won’t forget any crucial party items at your home (e.g. piñata bat). Second, that reservation won’t get screwed up…because you are already there! Finally, you know where everything is, how convenient. Now don’t get me wrong, you do run the risk of damage and such, so be sure to weigh the benefits and risks and pick what’s best for you!

* Peter Pan at the Park: One of the ultimate kid party ideas for a location is the local park. Make a list of all the local parks/water parks in the area and write down the key features of each one. For example, how much area is available? is there a playground? trash can availability? Bathrooms? covered areas? Capacity of park? etc. You don’t want to show up at an overcrowded park, with no playground or bathrooms and it starts to rain. Spend some time in selecting the right park and I guarantee your party will run a lot smoother. You will still be able to use a lot of the decorating ideas from this site, so don't stop here...keep reading!

* Peter Pan's Flight: Want to take Peter Pan and your child out on the town? Renting an establishment is one of the ultimate kid party ideas on this site. The great thing about renting an establishment is they sometimes will provide you with invitations, discounts on food, a cake, etc. Be sure you find a decent place that provides you with enough stuff to balance out the rental cost. Don’t be afraid to ask for food discounts and other items, you will be surprised on what they will offer, but only if you ask!

* Party Slogan: Before we get into the designing process, why don’t you pick out a party slogan? Pick something that your party will be developed around. Here are a few ideas to help you:

1. "Child's Name" Neverland Adventure!

2. Come fly with "Child's Name" and Peter Pan!

Before we get started, I have listed a few ideas on the design of the invitation and then I will give ideas on what to say inside.

* Peter Pan Kid Party Ideas Invitation #1: Start with light tan paper with an embossed feather-type design on it. Download some pictures of Peter, Tinkerbell, Wendy, John and Michael flying from our clipart page. Print them at the top of the paper, and use one of our poems below. Use scrapbooking scissors to cut a boarder around it, making it look like a map. Put a handful of colorful stars in the envelope for pixie dust. On the return address part of the envelope glue 2 stars, one representing "Neverland" being the second star on the right. Have an arrow pointing at it.

* Peter Pan Kid Party Ideas Invitation #2: Use lavendar scrapbook paper with sparkling stars and cut it down to approx 7 x 4 size. The paper itself is made by Sandylion and is called Cinderella purple.  Use one of the poems listed below for the invitation. You can also write "Tinkerbell invites you to a Peter Pan birthday party.  Who:  "child's name" Where: Neverland second star to the right on "address". Given by:  Captain hook, Peter Pan, and the rest of the gang.  Bring your faith and trust. We'll supply the pixie dust." Use glitter glue pens of silver and make a pixie dust trail all along the words. At the end of the trail put a tinkerbell sticker. On the back side print off a pirate treasure map.  For the treasure, mark an X at your house.

* Peter Pan Kid Party Ideas Invitation #3: Send out invitations to the guests to "Come to NeverLand". Get some clip art of TinkerBell, Peter Pan and a map of NeverLand and used these on the invite. Use a blue border around the inviation and apply glitter glue and "pixie dust" to the edge.

* Here is a list of kid party ideas sayings you could include in your party invitations *

Picking out, setting up and fine tuning the decorations can be a long tedious process. But, there is hope, because with a little planning and creativity, it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of the party. I have compiled kid party ideas that start with the outside decorations and finishes with the inside decorations. You can use all, some or none of the ideas, but no matter which kid party ideas you choose, they will help you turn your party location into the Ultimate Party Location.

First, let's start with the outdoor decorations:

Attach a bouquet of helium filled balloons to a light post or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be that day!

In the front yard, place a large sign saying, "Welcome to Neverland".

You could also set up a large tent in the yard, fill it with balloons and call it the Lost Boys Cave.

Use sidewalk chalk to draw different characters and sayings on the driveway.

Now, let’s move inside the party location and decorate…

Let’s start with the simple decorating. Tie helium balloons of different shades of green, red, yellow, purple, black or white in clusters of 3 or 5 to the back of chairs or tucked into corners. Don't forget to tie a bunch of balloons to the birthday child’s chair. If you choose not to use helium, tie balloons to varying lengths of curling ribbon, and hang them from the ceiling or from light fixtures throughout the house.

Here is a great selection of different balloons: Tinker Bell Mylar Flower Balloon, Tiner Bell Latex Balloons and a Tinker Bell Mylar Star Shape Balloon.

Next, let’s move on to another simple, yet familiar decorating item, Streamers. Streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of color around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful effect by draping rainbow colored metallic streamers from the center of the ceiling to the walls on each side of the room. The streamers can be twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table for a more dimensional look. Two different colored streamers can be placed back to back and twisted for a unique look. After you are done, it should look like a spiral rainbow above the room! They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading vertically down walls.

Here is an idea to transform a few rooms into Neverland: Start by making leaves out of paper and using fake flowers everywhere. Make sure there are a lot of green balloons everywhere. In a different room, have a large table which could be called the Darling home. Put tea cups on the table to make it look fancier. In the kitchen, it was the Mermaid's Cafe where you could eat food and get drinks. For the party table, curl light green ribbon and put shiny confetti on the table. For the center piece, use a round glass bowl and put star confetti in it. Another room could be the Lost Boys' hangout where someone could be making up stories to tell to the guests. If you have a staircase, make it the pirate ship which could be decorated with black and red balloons.

Hang up this great Captain Hook Paper Birthday Banner.

Don't forget this great Pirate Loot Hanging Mobile.

String up 10 gold stars and hang them from the ceiling. This could be called the "second star to the right room."

Another great idea is to print out some great pictures from our Peter Pan Clip Art Page. Have them laminated and place them around the party area.

Put this Shells, Starfish and Flowers Paper Table Confetti all over the party tables.

Party Tableware

The colors of the party should be pretty simple. I would stick with green, blue, black, white, yellow or purple. After you have selected the party theme colors, decide on whether you will use either printed or solid color party tableware.

Here is a great selection of Peter Pan kid party ideas tableware:

* Peter Pan Luncheon Napkins
* Peter Pan Birthday Cups
* Peter Pan Blowouts
* Peter Pan Party Hats
* Peter Pan Centerpiece

Going solo on your party theme? Can’t find any party theme tableware you like? Then take a look at the silverware, plates, napkins, etc in solid colors. You’re guaranteed to find a color that matches your theme.

Ice Breaker Activities

Let those who’ve arrived early play with Bubbles while they wait for the other guests to arrive.

Don’t forget to check out the great collection of coloring pages I have compiled. A coloring activity is a great way to keep the children occupied until the party starts. Plus, you can send them home in their goody bag.

A simple game of Peter, Peter, Pan (i.e. duck, duck, goose) is a great ice breaker activity. You can keep adding children to the circle after they arrive. I have yet to find a child who doesn't like this game, it’s a classic!!!

Freeze Dance is another great game to get kids acquainted. The game doesn't require a certain number of kids, so they can join in as they arrive. Play the Peter Pan soundtrack as the kids dance. If you stop the music, they must freeze. If they don’t freeze, they are out. The game restarts after all the children have been eliminated except one. Kids love to dance and play games, which makes this an Ultimate Ice Breaker Activity.

Have the children decorate a large birthday banner in honor of your child that says, “Happy Birthday, Name”. You can get a large roll of paper from a store like Target. Give the children crayons, stickers, and other such items to use.

Story time with puppet show: Make the puppets by printing characters off websites & laminating.  Attach to Popsicle sticks.

Peter Pan Kid Party Ideas for Cake:

Deciding on whether you are going to make or buy the Ultimate cake is a tough decision. It mainly depends on how much time you have and how many guests are coming.
