*Pin the Party Hat on Blue: Draw Blue’s face on a piece of poster board and cut party hat shapes from poster board. When the guests arrive, let them color their own party hat. Mount Blue on your wall and place a piece of tape on the back of each child’s party hat. Before children take a turn, have them close their eyes, then spin them around, and point them toward Blue. The child who sticks their party hat closest to Blue’s head is the winner!

*Blue May I: This fun game is based on the Mother May I game. This traditional game can be easily adapted to the Blue’s Clues party theme. For example, “Blue, may I take two steps forward?”

1. One child acts as Blue, while the other children line up and face mother about 25 feet away. Blue then picks one of his or her friends and say something like, “John, you can take five steps forward”. John then says, “Blue may I?”, Blue then says, “You may”. Then John would take five steps forward.

2. Blue then says something else to another of his or her friends like, “Samantha, you can take three steps forward” and the game continues until one of the children reaches Blue. Whoever makes it to the mother first becomes the mother of the next game.

3. The fun part of the game is that during the excitement one of the players is bound to take their steps without asking “Blue may I?”. When this happens Blue says, “You didn’t say Blue may I” and sends the player back to the beginning of the line. The Blue can also make the game a little more interesting by making the players do other things like “hop on one foot for two forwards steps” or “spin three times” or some other fun request.

*Snack Shack: In advance, prepare several dozen sugar cookies cut out in the shape of a dog bone. Mix prepared white frosting with blue food coloring. Have available several different kinds of sprinkles and decorations. Using plastic knives let the kids spread the frosting and decorate their cookies. Place their cookies on a paper plate with their name on it. This can be part of their loot when they go home with their “doggie bag.”

*Doggie Dancing: Let the children exert a lot of their stored up energy dancing like dogs. Put on your child’s favorite music and watch the children go. You’ll be surprised how much they enjoy this activity. Just be careful not to let it go on to long, or they will start getting out of control!!!
