First, I would like to thank Madison for sharing her great ideas from her Clown party.

Decorations

Decorations were primary colored streamers fanned over the dining table for the big top.  For each child, a "clown collar" was cut out of felt and as each child arrived they were directed to "Clown Central" where they were  given a "Clown Collar" to decorate with pompoms, little jingle bells and foam shapes.

Each child also received a cone shaped birthday hat to which he/she glued a pompom on top.

Costumes

We hired a clown as the main form of entertainment and after each child completed his costume at Clown Central, then he could go to Blossom Clown to get his/her face painted and a clown nose.

Food

Food: At the end of the tightrope, each child was then invited to the table for a  Clown Lunch which consisted of open-faced sandwiches with clown faces made with vegetables (radishes and olives for eyes and some bean sprouts for hair, red pepper for mouth), along with red nose raspberry punch.

Cake: A Clown face birthday cake was served along with ice cream and then the gift-opening.

Party Favors

Each treat bag included the clown nose the child wore, a plastic bowl with a clown on it, a super ball, some clown stickers and other candy.

Games and Activities

When everyone was finished getting "clowned Up", Blossom Clown then began a short show which included some magic tricks and ended with each child receiving a balloon animal.  Next was the Clown tightrope walk where a bright red 2x4  was the tightrope and an umbrella was given to the child to "balance" his walk on the tight rope.
